Around The World In 200 Songs

AROUND THE WORLD IN 200 SONGS

There are 193 UN members, 2 members with  Observer Status and 5 non recognized nations in the World, all producing some form of folk, ethnic, tribal, ethno-pop, ethno-hip hop, reggae or other music that can fall in categories deemed 'World Music' and 'World Reggae' that enrich the global musical offering of our planet, with music being a truly universal language and a pleasure that unites all humans across time, geography, culture, religion, gender or ideologies.

In the pages of www.travelwithyourears.com there are already videos representing every one of those countries plus a number of regions, but it is time to go once again around the world in search of new cool videos, this time in alphabetical order from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, adding new clips down the alphabet as often as possible until the tour is complete...follow the progress and let the music take you places as we complete our round the world musical tour!

RESOURCES

To make this musical tour of the World more interesting, I have added country and musical information through links to some consistent and reliable resources about all the World's countries, about music from those countries, as well as when available about the featured artists, their websites, their social media, where to buy their music, the musical genres of the videos or the particular cultures represented in the videos.

For country info, I have linked to the relevant pages in these three websites: Wikipedia, the CIA World Factbook and Britannica.com, which give a good overview from different perspectives on each country, with links to explore further.

For musical info, I have linked when possible to Folk Cloud, which has good info on many countries' traditional music, with relevant pages on Wikipedia and to other relevant sites.

For World Music inspiration, music compilations, information, etc, I recommend these essential resources:

- Putumayo World Music

- World Music Network
